Fellowship Details

1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Fellowship Amount: ₹37,000 per month plus admissible House Rent Allowance (HRA) or hostel facility, as per rules.

• Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in B.E./B.Tech. in disciplines such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or allied engineering subjects.

  • Alternatively, candidates with 60% marks in M.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or allied science subjects are also eligible.

  • GATE or NET qualification is required, as applicable.

• Age Limit: Maximum 28 years, with relaxation of up to 5 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL), and Physically Handicapped categories, as per Government of India rules

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Fellowship Amount: ₹42,000 per month plus admissible HRA or hostel facility, as per rules.

• Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates should possess an M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Engineering/Technology in disciplines such as Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioenergy Engineering, Energy Science & Engineering, Environmental Engineering, etc., with a minimum of 60% marks.

  • Alternatively, candidates with M.Sc., B.E., or B.Tech. degrees with at least 60% marks and a minimum of two years of post-qualification research experience, evidenced by fellowship/associateship and publications in standard refereed journals or patents from reputed R&D or academic institutions, are eligible.

• Age Limit: Maximum 32 years, with relaxation of up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and Physically Handicapped categories, as per Government of India rules.

Additional Information

• Ph.D. Opportunity: Selected candidates may have the opportunity to be considered for the Ph.D. program at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, subject to their admission guidelines. The research work will be carried out at SSS-NIBE, Kapurthala, and the Ph.D. degree will be awarded by IIT Roorkee.
